An example of a mixed golf, walking & bicycling holiday

Enjoy golf & discover the region by walking & cycling as well. With 300 days of sunshine per year, the region is ideal for golf; courses are located on the coast, mountains or near the historic cities of Carcassonne & Beziers. We create golf touring holidays, for lovers of discovery, nature, history, Mediterranean culture, landscapes & wine & food.

1st Day: 30 mins drive to Beziers, & the Saint-Thomas 18 hole golf course set in typically Mediterranean scenery. Explore Beziers; destroyed in the Albigensian crusade. Visit the beautiful cathedral, cycle along the canal du midi & the 7 locks that lead to the sea.

2nd Day: Travel to Carcassonne golf course where they hold intensive workshops. Visit the magnificent walled cité & explore the chateau Comtal. Return through the mountains where there are caves to visit & small villages & routes in the forests to follow by bike.

3rd Day: Drive to Montpellier & Golf de La Grande-Motte. The city is outstanding with a vibrant city centre; nearby is the magnificent Roman Pont du Gard with beautiful walking & cycling trails around the aquaduct; after we visit Arles & the Roman colleseum.

4th Day: Visit the beautiful sea-side golf course at Cap D’Agde, with miles of Oyster beds & long white beaches. For serious walkers & bird lovers there is a nature reserve by the sea lake & for those in search of history, the museum of Hellenistic archaeology.

5th day: Visit the Golf club at Lamelou-les-bains in the heart of the Parc Régional du Haut Languedoc in the Black Mountains & cycle through some of the most stunning countryside that you can imagine. Lunch at a restaurant overlooking the Gorges at Rocobrun & walk through Mediterranean gardens looking out to the sea or hike to the top of gorges d’heric.

An example of horse riding, tennis & water sports holiday

A riding holiday in the Pays de Cathars country in South of France at any time of the year is memorable. Whatever your riding ability is when you arrive, a course can be designed for you. When not riding, you can also enjoy white water rafting, jet ski, kyaking & wind surfing. There are also beautiful tennis courts & expert coaching nearby.

Opportunities abound, there is no way that you will be bored.

1st Day: Start with an hour’s induction at the stables, to access your ability. You have to groom & tack up each day, riding hats are provided. Beginners are given tuition to improve riding skills. We take a hack over the local vineyards & along the Canal du Midi. We can visit an inland lake for windsurfing or take a game of tennis.

2nd Day: You are introduced to your first lesson in Jumping & a hack is taken over the hills & down to the river Aude. Gallops are taken along the deserted vineyards in the beautiful light of the fading day. There are tennis courts in the village or you can go swimming in one of the many mountain rivers or just relax round our heated pool.

3rd Day: Start with 1 hour of dressage riding tuition & learning to be in tune with your mount, which is so important when jumping or performing more intricate techniques. A trip is taken to the mountains for an exhilerating kayak trip down a fast running river with over 10 miles of rapids in the stunningly beautiful Parc Régional du Haut Languedoc.

4th Day: This ride is taken through the wild countryside & down to the river Aude where you swim with the horses. You will build an understanding with your mount; this is quite a wonderful experience. This is also very dependant on the water level of the river & your skill. Later you can visit the fabulous International Tennis Centre, Cap d'Agde, which has 40 hard & indoor tennis courts. Finish the day with a swim in the Mediterranean.

5th day: 1 hour of tuition concentrating on show Jumping & dressage techniques. You also ride along one of the Mediterranean sea lakes where, later you can enjoy some

windsurfing & jet skiing. Additional riding & tuition can be arranged & paid for per hour.

An example of a hunting, fishing & gourmet wine holiday

‘La Chasse’, a favourite pastime of the Languedocienne. Surrounded by millions of acres of forest & wild scrub leading to the sea, the terrain is ideal for hunting wild boar. Rivers wind down the mountains through seemingly hostile countryside resulting in a wealth of deserted places to fish for trout, carp & pike-perch. Choices vary from deep-sea fishing, lake & river fishing for a large variety of species. An expert guide is included.

1st Day: A day's pheasant shoot, hunting with hounds, on private lands high on top of the Black mountains looking out towards the sea. Gourmet hampers are prepared for lunch which include hot home made soups, patés, terrines, fois gras & wonderful local cheeses. After a long day of hunting you return to a relaxing evening with a 4 course gourmet meal & a wine degustation to introduce you to the finest wines of the region.

2nd Day: We visit Gruissan harbour & for a day of deep-sea fishing. We fish for Tuna, sword fish, grey mullet, Sea Bass & Makerel. If the weather is bad you can fish beside the sea lakes or further inland in a fresh water lake. We a wine producer to sample the wines & to learn about the vinification process. Hopefully you will return with fish for the evening meal, a seafood feast with oysters & giant meditteraenean prawns.

3rd & 4th Day: Two days wild boar hunting with an overnight stop in a forest cabin in the middle of the Pyrenees. Discover the traditional hunting of the Languedoc! The reserve covers 500 hectares of wild mountain & forest; quality of game is exceptional, boar, pheasants, partridges, wood pigeons rabbits & hare. The evening dinner consists of game & is prepared in the traditional regional style, by the game-keeper's wife. Wines are the deep, full bodied rich Syrah & Granache of the region, aged in oak for 12 months.

5th day: Return to the Chateau for an early morning, river fishing trip for trout & Pike-Perch. After a long gastronomic lunch it is time to go in search for the illusive mushrooms, truffles & winter berry fruits & of course some pigeon & wild duck. The last night is a feast of boar, duck & pigeon with wild mushrooms, forest fruits & herbs followed by compotes, timbales & fondants. One of the local wine producers gives a degustation of the appropriate wines to serve with these delicious & rich foods.
